It’s always fun to hang out with other luthiers & instrument enthusiasts. The Sonoma County Folk Society did a great job putting on their 7th Annual Sebastopol Guitar Festival at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Society this past Saturday (Feb. 2, 2019). For more information, check out this article from the Press Democrat.
After working on the basses & dreadnought, these four tenor ukes are coming together quickly. Lots of northern California tonewood for this batch: two Monterey cypress from Point Arena (a neighboring town on the southern Mendocino coast), and two acacia from San Francisco’s Presidio. There are both X-braced & ladder-braced tops for each wood variety, so we’re eager to hear the difference.
Other features: ebony fingerboard, 16-7/8″ string length, Sitka spruce bracing, hot hide glue construction, abalone or mother-of-pearl Dart logo/fingerboard markers/side dots.

Some of these instruments are a couple years old & have some nicks and dings from folks testing them out, so we’re lowering prices on a select handful, hoping they’ll find a happy home. They might not be in perfect brand new mint condition, but they’ve been well set up & played in. Everything sounds & feels fantastic – stop by the Dart Instruments showroom at 520 Hwy. 128 in Philo, California to try one out!
