That guitar finally came back to me, from the third owner and through a trade. A guy who bought it off eBay described it as "an OM guitar on steroids." The cherry was cut & stacked in the 1940s by Old Louie's father. Louie was the owner of Rare Woods Incorporated in East L.A., right by the banks of the L.A. River - that great concrete slab. He was old when I got that wood, and his dad put it up.

This is one of four guitars. One was all koa, one was all koa but nylon-strung, and one was like this one but with Honduras rosewood back & sides, with a rose on the peghead.
